PROGRAM UBUNTU ANAK ANGKAT ORANG ASLI: UUM MEMPERKASA KOMUNITI TERSISIH
Program ini dianjurkan oleh pelajar Kursus SSWSK2153 Perancangan dan Pembangunan Komuniti, SAPSP, dengan kerjasama Great Vision Charity Association dan Persatuan Kerja Sosial UUM. Program akan berlangsung di Perkampungan Orang Asli Lubuk Legong, Baling, Kedah pada 26–27 Disember 2025.
“Ubuntu” ialah istilah daripada Bahasa Kuno Afrika Selatan yang bermaksud kemanusiaan untuk semua dan menggalakkan kita berbuat baik demi komuniti. Falsafah ini menjadi inspirasi pelajar Kerja Sosial UUM untuk membantu komuniti Orang Asli yang kurang bernasib baik.
Kami amat mengalu-alukan sumbangan anda untuk menceriakan kanak-kanak serta wanita/ibu di kawasan luar bandar ini.

Being involved as part of the charity life, NGOs like Great Vision Charity Association has made us realize how important our missions are to help out the underprivileged families and people when needed whom are often forgotten by the society, especially towards the B40 communities.With the current ongoing situations like Covid-19 and lockdowns that heavily affected many underprivileged societies in a most unfortunate way, this critical moment is when each of us has the utmost responsibility to lend a care when they need us.And that’s why I’m setting a fundraise campaign dedicated to all GVCA programs. Here’s where we explain for each GVCA programs:
- Didik Kasih EduCare program: For all donations made, all proceeds will go to helping the underprivileged students who are unable to pay up their basic costs to obtain their education in college. These students needed to fulfil their successful future life. The best part is? These same students most of the times will come back to even help other underprivileged families once they obtain their scholarship!
- Rakan Shopping program: The proceeds will also go to B40 underprivileged families (mainly from PPR low-cost flat areas residency) where volunteers would purchase daily groceries for the families. It is known that many families have unsustainable income as a result of their dire condition imposed by many external factors. The recent Covid-19 only makes it worst and we hope that these proceeds will help stabilize their situation.
- Collaborating partners: A little fact known is GVCA also collaborates with other associations and organizations like Prudential which facilitates PRUKasih Financial Relief, as well as sister NGOs like Great Heart Charity Association’s charitable programs which I came from! What a small world we are living now!
So, are we waiting for? Let’s start our own part to help contribute donations to GVCA when we can! Remember that every single cent count, because they will always be life saver for those who are most unfortunate than us!

A Brighter Tomorrow Starts With UsIn today’s society, children from disadvantaged backgrounds continue to face challenges in meeting their basic needs, including access to proper nutrition, care, and opportunities for healthy development. These challenges are often more severe for children living in orphanages, where limited resources affect their overall well-being and quality of life.In response to this concern, University of Cyberjaya, in collaboration with Young Mercy and Great Vision Charity Association (Persatuan Harapan Mulia), is organizing a donation initiative to support children at Sai Pandian Orphanage Children Home, Setia Alam.This initiative aims to ease the burden faced by the orphanage by providing essential support in the form of food, drinks, and planned activities that promote happiness, social interaction, and emotional well-being among the children.Your contribution, regardless of the amount, plays a meaningful role in bringing comfort and joy to these children. Join us in making a difference! In our efforts to combat youth unemployment, particularly among orphaned and underprivileged teenagers in Malaysia, we are launching a community service project aimed at providing hospitality and culinary techniques. This campaign focuses on inspiring youths toward professional careers in hospitality, equipping them with essential life skills that benefit both their personal lives and future job prospects. Food insecurity is a significant issue, particularly for underprivileged teenagers who often lack access to higher education and face financial instability, mental health challenges, and insufficient support systems. These challenges stem from the lack of parental and educational privileges such as financial instability due to insufficient parental support, leading to inadequate support systems. This situation causes two major problems: inaccessibility to nutritious food and lack of quality education (Jayakumar, 2023; Hussin & San, 2023). Our cooking workshop aims to address these issues by contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of "Zero Hunger" and "Quality Education." By teaching children the basics to prepare nutritious meals, we can improve their overall well-being and nutritional intake.Additionally, the skills learned in these workshops will equip them with essential knowledge and abilities, promoting better life outcomes. Our workshops will teach them that even affordable food can be nutritious, preparing them for potential careers in the food industry and providing a sense of security and confidence as they step into the workforce.Our goal is to raise RM2500 to fund workshops and donations that will teach underprivileged teenagers how to prepare nutritious meals with affordable ingredients. These workshops aim to provide them with valuable skills for potential careers in the food industry, boosting their confidence and sense of security as they enter the workforce.
