#HarapanMulia fundraiser campaign is back for year 2022!We are running the #HarapanMulia fundraiser, where we aim to raise RM450k for our two main programs: the Rakan Shopping Program and Didik-Kasih EduCare Program. We are also in need of funds to facilitate our charity programs and for day-to-day operations.Despite being able to successfully conduct our programs and activities this year, the COVID-19 pandemic has brought with it many uncertainties, which makes it even more important that we secure enough funds so that we are able to continue our work.We are looking for your support in donating, as well as fundraising so that we can achieve this goal of giving hope to our beneficiaries in the year to come. WHATI'm fundraising RM500 for Great Vision Charity's work with the B40 community. Kebanyakannya merasakan bahawa wujudnya kerja amal ni sebab ada golongan – golongan mengambil kesempatan diatas kemurahan hati sesetengah pihak.Memang diakui bahawa ada sesetengah penerima bantuan memang mengambil kesempatan diatas kemurahan hati NGO. Namun jangan pukul rata dan anggap semua penerima bantuan adalah sama. Bantuan yang disalur kepada mereka ini ibarat talian hayat/ peluang kedua untuk mereka meneruskan hidup. Kita mungkin selesa dengan hidup kita namun harus diingat ada individu/ keluarga yang kurang berkemampuan terutama dari golongan B40 yang masih meraba – raba untuk meneruskan hidup.Tahun 2020 & 2021 adalah tahun yang suram buat Malaysia akibat Pandemik Covid-19. Tahun 2022 merupakan tahun untuk seluruh rakyat Malaysia bangkit semula selepas kita akhirnya berjaya mengatasi pandemik ini. Namun, harus diingat bahawa kesan Pandemik Covid-19 ini turut dirasai oleh segenap lapisan masyarakat tidak terkecuali individu/ keluarga dari golongan B40.Persatuan Harapan Mulia telah melancarkan #HarapanMuliaCampaign sebagai salah 1 inisiatif bersasar untuk membantu golongan ini. Hello and very good morning! I would like to begin by introducing myself. My name is Nur Alfadina Binti Mohd Borhan, but you can call me fafa or alfa and I am 20 years old. I am now pursuing a Diploma in Information Management at UiTM Rembau, Negeri Sembilan. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I am currently residing in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur.Next, I wanted to participate in this fundraiser with Great Vision Charity Association in order to gain new experience since this is my very first time participating in this program. Other than that, I am also a student from the Didik Kasih program who receives a monthly allowance from Didik Kasih, I was curious how challenging it is to obtain the fund. 作为一名社工和义工，我们遇到了无数的贫困家庭，而最让我们心寒的是目睹了许多积极进取或有潜力的年轻人被剥夺了获得最佳教育体验的机会。 由于家里与大学的距离遥远却选择了这机会。大学对来自 B40 家庭的学生来说是一件昂贵的事情。 在某些情况下，上课根本不可能，因为更需要有限的钱来购买简单的必需品，例如租金、食物、水电费等。Didik-Kasih EduCare Program 是本协会的主要项目之一，该项目提供学习援助，旨在帮助潜在及希望继续高等教育的贫困小孩，为他们提供启动援助和十二个月的每月津贴，以支付他 / 她在学习期间的生活费用，以便他们能够专心学习。除此之外，宏愿慈善协会的另外一个慈善项目就是“陪购计划”(Shopping Buddy Program)，此项目是给予贫困家庭生活上所需要的物资。捐款多少不设限，您捐进来的每一分钱，我们都会无比感恩与珍惜。因为您的捐款可以让本协会能够持续帮助更多有需要被援助的弱势群体。The current COVID-19 outbreak, the recent Klang Valley floods, and the global economic downturn have driven many of the B40 communities even further into poverty and hardship. Many people are losing their daily salaries, putting them in an even more precarious position. Rakan Shopping Program steps in to provide a short-term solution to ensure that these B40 families living in PPR have access to safe and healthy meals every day.As social workers & volunteers, meeting countless poor families, what breaks our hearts most is to witness many highly motivated or potential youths are being robbed from the chance of them to get the best education experience possible. Living far away from Universities and Colleges means school becomes an expensive affair for students coming from the B40 community. 在我6年的慈善之路上，我看过了好多，好多的贫穷家庭。很多人很喜欢问我两个问题:1) 为什么你要做慈善？ 2) 什么原因导致这么多人穷苦至需要慈善的帮忙？老实说，我并没有很伟大或感人的原因去选择加入慈善社工这条路，纯粹以一个很单纯的心，想要从事一份真心可以去帮助真正的贫困人士的工作，可以接触到他们再帮到他们，感觉很有意义，就一直这样做了6年对于为什么这么多人会生活在困境里，我有一个听起来很玄的答案，但是的的确确是非常真实的，那就是 “教育”！ 在我们帮助的贫穷家庭里，很多父母都是从事比较低收入的工作（清洁工人，厂工，散工）等等。他们很想要给与一个好教育给他们的孩子，给他们去补习，上大学等等，可是经济上的他们根本没办法做到，所以孩子们的成绩都是平平，而且想到上大学需要每个月在外面租房和吃饭的生活费，他们反而就不鼓励孩子去上大学了。没有学历的孩子，到最后往往会步回父母的后尘，从事低收入的工作，导致 B40 community 已日渐长。今年4月的时候，我听到一个贫穷家庭的妈妈, Puan Rubayah 说到：“今天我很心疼，因为我的孩子告诉我她想要上大学，为了完成他的梦想，我向亲朋戚友借了 RM2900 来帮他偿还大学报名费，可是我的孩子告诉我他需要一个电脑来做功课，我却完全没有办法”当下听了，真的感觉很遗憾。如今的年代已经和以往不同，以前和政府借 PTPTN 已足够支撑学费和生活费，如今的年代 PTPTN 只能够给予学费，但是生活费，交通费，书本电脑等等的开销，贫穷家庭的小孩就算在学校假期去打工，都无法完全负担得起。 为了协助Puan Rubayah 和她的孩子, 耕心送了一架电脑给他的孩子，也亲身教导她的孩子如何使用这架电脑，也鼓励他们向宏愿慈善协会寻求帮助。如今，宏愿慈善协会（耕心姐妹协会）每月帮助贫苦家庭的孩子们上大学的生活费 RM250 长达12个月或更久, 再给予他们一次性RM1500 买书本或电脑来上网课等等。这些孩子都很听话，大学放假后常常会跑去打工来帮补家里的收入！我们只有给他们一个要求，就是在我们帮助他们的这个期间，他们得去做慈善的义工或举办小小的爱心活动，把我们给他们的爱心传给外面更多有需要的底层人士 如今，在新的一年2022里，宏愿慈善协会希望可以向大众做个凑款来继续帮助他们。RM30, RM50 或 RM100 都是对我们有很大的鼓励 爱心捐款： Persatuan Harapan Mulia （宏愿慈善协会） CIMB 800 360 0877感恩您的爱心! -

Filling the stomach comes first while nutrition comes last.
- Youth who came from needy families were forced to work after high school to help to support the family. Education has become a privileged and they do not dare to dream further.

Hello~~ Meet me Nazihah!Saya merupakan pekerja sosial di Persatuan Harapan Mulia. Ini perjalanan saya bersama Persatuan Harapan Mulia dalam membantu komuniti dan pelajar B40. Sepanjang 3 tahun perjalanan saya, banyak kisah sedih, kesusahan, happy dan pengajaran hidup yang saya dapat belajar daripada mereka. Ada yang struggle untuk membeli peralatan bayi, ada yang menabung untuk menyediakan kenderaan yang selesa untuk anak-anak, ada atuk dan nenek sama-sama berniaga di sekitar rumah untuk menampung kos sara hidup harian. Ada juga yang sedang berjuang untuk melawan penyakit yang mereka hidapi. Pelbagai cabaran dan dugaan yang mereka hadapi dalam kehidupan. Mereka berusaha untuk membuat yang tebraik untuk keluarga mereka. Pihak GVCA sentiasa cuba sebaik mungkin untuk menyantuni mereka untuk memahami perjalanan hidup mereka agar bantuan yang disalurkan adalah bersesuaian dengan apa yang mereka perlukan. Banyak kisah kalua nak ceritakan sebenarnya. Tapi ada satu kisah yang saya masih saya ingat.Kisah yang paling saya rasa dekat dihati adalah seorang kisah seorang Pakcik yang menghidap leukimia, dia kuat untuk lawan sakit dia. GVCA bantu dia beberapa kali untuk bantuan barangan dapur dalam program Rakan Shopping. Saya masih ingat lagi ayat yang Pakcik tu bagitahu “terima kasih bagi Pakcik bantuan ni, 3 bulan ni Pakcik dah tak payah beli barangan kering, duit tu Pakcik boleh la guna buat bayar grab nanti untuk pergi hospital masa buat rawatan dan bayar bil hospital”. Setiap kali saya hantar barang bantuan, dia akan jumpa saya untuk ucapkan terima kasih walaupun dengan keadaan yang tidak sihat. Pakcik telah meninggal dunia pada tahun 2021 akibat sakitnya itu. Sejujurnya saya sedih apabila dengar pakcik tu dah meninggal dunia, tetapi dalam masa sama saya cukup berpuas hati kerana saya sudah melakukan yang terbaik untuk bantu Pakcik ringankan beban dia. Mungkin benda tu nampak sedikit pada kita, tapi sebenarnya besar nilai tu buat mereka. -

The journey of self-discoveryMy life changed when I first realised the impermanence of all things 10 years ago. I decided to spend my time more meaningfully with a switch from working in the corporate world to working in a charity NGO. The switch allowed me to open my eyes and see the real world up-close and personal. This has also accelerated myself to be who I am today; grateful and happy.It is not easy when you try to push yourself out of your comfort zone. New challenges arise in all forms and patterns almost on a daily basis when you work in a charity organisation, but that is also exactly what makes living our life worthwhile; getting the experience and learning opportunities that comes with it! Other than the fulfilment you get with having successfully solving each of the challenges, the opportunity to watch the appreciative smile on other people’s face will always makes us feel that the time and effort spent is well worth it! We might or might not have changed the beneficiary’s life through our one single action, but the heart of everyone involved, including those of the volunteers has changed, whether they realised it or not.You will only grow stronger after you have learnt how to give truthfully and love everything that happens in your life. Gratitude and appreciation are what made our life beautiful. Getting involved in charity works and helping others will accentuate your ability to realise this.When I looked back, after years of working in a charity NGO, my biggest takeaway is when you truly learnt how to give, regardless of love, time, nor money, the biggest beneficiary is always yourself, not others. So, learn to be a giver starting today! I am targeting to help raise RM3,000 for Great Vision Charity Association’s ongoing charity programs “Shopping Buddy Program” and “Didik-Kasih EduCare Program” to ensure it can continue to run smoothly in the year 2023.
